Black Ice by Ali Dean

Age: 16+

Plot Development: A+

Character Development: A+

Roxie and Ryker are really settling into their relationship, but naturally what kind of book would it be if there was no turmoil? No major obstacle?

After reeling from the last sentence of Double Black...I dove right into the third book. Roxie has endured some pretty insane things from Petra and her minions and just when you think literally nothing else crazy could happen - BAM - blast from the past wanders back into Stark Springs Academy (but not before asking permission at least) and they try to uncover the truth to Ryker's mom's death.

Ryker begins receiving his mom's journals that reveal INSANE secrets about her and it makes him rethink the mother he remembers; it also makes him understand why his dad is the way he is. Roxie, while assisting Ryker with his mom's journals, is the one dealing with a character Ali (somewhat) introduced us to in the first book. You'll get nothing but sketchy vibes from her and what she ends up doing...you won't see coming...like at all!

If you ever read a book series and feel like you still want more - worry not - you WON'T find that here. Ali Dean concludes the series perfectly. Once again Ali proves that not every tragic thing has to happen to the female lead...sorry no spoilers here!

One thing I really want to mention about this book is the fact that, Ali brings in characters from Chasing Indigo (and Pepped Up series), even if it was just for a small bit. It was a nice surprise and not something you see that often.
